Creating a systematic radiology report for 2D radiographs

A while back I was requested to give some guidance on creating a systematic radiology report for 2D radiographs and thought this is a great idea. 🙂 To the requestor, thanks for the idea.

I’ve broken the report up into 5 sections, granted a final report only ends up with 4 sections (more to come on that). Anyways, since this is just a preview post with the topics linked as they are posted.

Here are the topics:

  • Teeth
  • Caries
  • Periodontal Assessment
  • Pediatric Assessment
  • Other

The entire basis of this is adapted from the very first boiler I had during my residency. I have made quite a few tweaks during my teaching career so look at this as a jumping off point to help you.

A quick note when creating a report is to only include images made on the same day for simplicity.

And a giant thank you to Axel Ruprecht for the first ever boiler that I started from. (For those curious as to why it’s called a boiler, I’ll let you have some fun with Google. Hint: it’s historical.).

Thanks and enjoy!
