This weeks case is a severe example of internal resorption as seen on cone beam CT. Internal resorption presents as enlargement of the pulp chamber and/or root canal space.
(Metal in left anterior mandible is due to previous reconstruction and mandibular fracture)
(Note enlarged root canal space in midroot portion of the tooth with decreased thickness of dentin. As if there is a large hole in the tooth.)
This is just a few screenshots from a CBCT scan of internal resorption. If you have any questions about this, please let me know. Thanks and enjoy!
