Cysts of the Jaws

General radiographic finding of cysts include

(E) well-defined to well-localized

(S) round to ovoid with a hydraulic appearance (enlarges similar to how a balloon would enlarge)

(I) radiolucent

(O) They may or may not displace and/or resorb adjacent teeth as they enlarge

It is important to note that these findings are general findings and may not apply to each individual cyst

Buccal Bifurcation Cyst

Dentigerous Cyst

Lateral Periodontal Cyst

Nasopalatine Canal Cyst

Radicular Cyst

Simple Bone Cyst
