Caries Interpretation: Interproximal Caries Answers

Here are the answers to yesterdays practice radiographs.

1. caries practice 1

  • Maxillary right second molar (#2) = mesial incipient (less than 50% through enamel)
  • Maxillary right first molar (#3) = distal incipient (less than 50% through enamel)
  • Maxillary right second premolar (#4) = distal and mesial
  • Maxillary right first premolar (#5) = distal and mesial
  • Maxillary right canine (#6) = distal incipient (less than 50% through enamel)
  • Mandibular right canine (#27) = distal incipient (less than 50% through enamel)
  • Mandibular right first premolar (#28) = mesial and distal
  • Mandibular right second premolar (#29) = mesial and distal
  • Mandibular right first molar (#30) = mesial

2. caries practice 2

  • Maxillary right canine (#6) = mesial incipient (less than 50% through enamel)
  • Maxillary right lateral incisor (#7) = distal

3. caries practice 3

  • Maxillary left second premolar (#13) = distal
  • Maxillary left first molar (#14) = mesial (suggestive/monitor/evaluate clinically)
  • Mandibular left second molar (#18) = mesial
  • Mandibular left first molar (#19) = distal, mesial (suggestive/monitor/evaluate clinically)
  • Mandibular left second premolar (#20) = distal (suggestive/monitor/evaluate clinically)

4. caries practice 4

  • Maxillary left central incisor (#9) = distal
